What's happenin' lately?!

OOOO Wee!
Its been awhile since I have posted anything. Life has been busy and the new store has kept me busy along with custom work ( thank God for custom work!). We started with a big ole bang, running start, spring board jump when we opened the store and then as predicted, August struck and the store when from busy to...not quite so busy anymore. It has been nice to regroup and do some planning for the upcoming seasons but also a little scary to watch the ebb and flow of retail business as an owner.
I was reading through some old emails the other day that I was about to delete forever and I came across this short little piece of advice about times of doubt and it struck me big time. I loved it and I hope you do too. Be encouraged.
"Faith is not the absence of doubt. It is a decision to trust in God’s promises in the face of our doubts. To doubt is to be human, it is the human struggle. To trust even though we have doubt is pleasing to God. This is the kind of faith that is pleasing to God: trusting him in the presence of doubt. Don’t focus on trying to rid yourself of doubts, rather, use your doubts as an occasion, a springboard to trust God’s promises. When the doubts come say to yourself: Whatever I think or feel that unsettles me is not the truth. I choose right now to trust God and not my fleeting thoughts and emotions.” This is how faith grows: in the presence of doubt. The journey of faith in the face of doubt is a lifelong process. As you trust day by day in the face of your doubt, know that your faith is growing. “Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water (Jer17:7a)"

I love the notion that doubts are a springboard to trust God's promises. Love, love, love that.

I am working with a very talented local artist on some very fun and whimsical and gorgeous paper items for the shop! Cards, banners, bunting, gift tags and so on! They will be making their debut next week, I will be sure to share photos. Her things are just WAY too cute!!

Wanna see a custom project I am working on?? I really love this bed. It was a gorgeous dark wood and I am painting it to go into a young gal's bedroom.I will toss in a few photos of the new items that are in the shop right now and a photo of what is on deck!!

  3. The round tables are AMAZING-I know of several customers that are dying for these types of tables. Especially matching ones. When you finish them, they will sell right away. Good finds Miss Merri!
